so who has bent a lower control arm?

For those that have, I'm just wondering what actually did it - hitting a curb, running over something? Can hitting a pothole bend a front lower control arm on a G? I'm wondering if they are fairly easy to bend.

Last oil change at the stealership I was diagnosed with one, and I strongly suspect the shop guys may have slid the car into something on a joyride when road testing.

I bent the driver's side front lower control arm and caused some significant damage to that ball joint on my '07x not that long ago. In my case, though, it was a fairly significant incident that caused it, though, when a 3' manhole cover dropped into the ground and my front wheel dropped into the hole and came slamming out a second later. Luckily my wheel and tire (17" O.Z. Ultraleggera and Pilot Sport A/S) came out the incident just fine.
