Question Whiteline or Hotchkis Set?

So of your opinions again. Best Dollar for Dollar Value of improving handling is no doubt a quality sway bar set.

Whiteline is offering: $448.00
•27mm solid spring steel 2 point Front adjustable sway bar
•24mm 3 point adjustable Rear sway bar

Whiteline Sway Bar Set

Hotchkis is offering: $477.95
• Lightweight, Durable 1 3/8" (35mm) Tubular Front Bar.(Hollow)
• Lightweight, Durable 1.125 (28mm) Tubular Rear Bar 3 Way Adjustable (Hollow)

Hotchkis Sport Suspension

So what are your opinions of each?? Installation seems to be pretty simple if you can find yourself a lift. Planning to install one of these on 2010 Sedan/S to further improve handling and reduce that nasty roll and under-steer.

Also do you know where to get a better deal on either?

I don't know that anyone has reported any dissatisfaction with any of the available sway bars. I don't think that any would be a "wrong" choice or that any of them have a distinct huge advantage over the other. I have Hotchkis and they have been fine. The advantage I like about them is that they come with bushing brackets that have integrated grease zerks so that they can be fully lubricated without having to remove anything. That's a convenience.

You guys got screwed....

TireRack was selling them for $352 with free shipping. No tax to most states.

http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/s...7&autoModClar=

Amazon is also selling them for $352 with free shipping and no tax to most states.

Amazon.com: Hotchkis 22443 Sport Sway Bar Set for Nissan G35X/G37X (AWD) 08+: Automotive Amazon.com: Hotchkis 22443 Sport Sway Bar Set for Nissan G35X/G37X (AWD) 08+: Automotive

Don't buy from any private vendors on here or elsewhere they're much more expensive. People should search the big guys first before going to smaller vendors.

EDIT:
Sorry, didn't know you were looking for the non-X version.

Well, the one I was showing was the X version. I believe you were looking for the non-X version, which costs more than the prices you found. I believe you can look for them cheaper though.

I'd recommend to completely ignore advice to not buy from forum vendors. In most instances, they are not more expensive and often actually cheaper. I think I paid about $360 shipped when I bought mine long ago form a forum vendor. As you can see in this case, the original info about getting screwed on price was wrong. Also, our sponsoring vendors are the ones that make it possible for this forum to exist without everyone having to pay for membership. Many are actual car enthusiasts and small businessmen who can answer your questions and some actually own or drive a G. Nobody at "the big boys" will be able to do that for you. If they have to charge a few dollars more to keep their doors open and earn a living, it's well worth it IMO. You're free to do what you like. I just wanted to add my .02 to counteract the advice you just got that I think is very bad and counterproductive advice.

You'll love the difference in how your car handles once you get them installed.

I understand what you are saying black betty but that was not my experience on here. I would agree that they help support financially a lot for this forum to exist.

However, most of them couldn't match prices that I was able to obtain from bigger websites, such as Amazon.com, TireRack, and RockAuto.com

Many times it was required that I had to negotiate to get them to even match closely to these websites. Some of them even said that they couldn't match them.

I tried to get KYB struts, and all the vendors on here were at least $20 more expensive than what I could find from RockAuto. (I was able to get all 4 KYB struts/shocks of them for $252 shipped.) The lowest a vendor could do on here is $275, but only after they said $310 shipped at first and I provided them evidence of it being cheaper elsewhere. If you tried to search for painted OEM spoilers from vendors on here ($300+shipping) versus other wholesale OEM parts that I searched online ($260 including shipping same part number.) I find vendors on here to be more expensive. I've also looked for paddle shifter kits on here, and again, they were SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive here than elsewhere. Same thing happened when I tried to get illuminated kick plates. I ended up purchasing from a vendor on here BECAUSE they were willing to offer it at the same price as another vendor not on here.

I have never been able to find prices from forum vendor on here that were cheaper than elsewhere. I always had to negotiate to match a price from elsewhere, and the first price I was quoted on here is always higher. As for advice on how to install, well it depends. You can ask forum members on here for help, but in my experience, most of the questions you have can be answered here without asking vendors for help.

From a business standpoint, it makes sense that the bigger retailers will be able to sell you these items cheaper than from a smaller retailer. They can purchase more of them and move them at volume. (Think of Costco vs. small grocery store.) However, while this is generally true, sometimes smaller retailers CAN sell things cheaper than big box retailers. You don't have to take my advice, but in the end, just do all your research and compare prices.

As for $360 for the sway bars, I did get them for the same price a year ago from a vendor on here, but I had to negotiate a couple times and from a couple vendors to find one that would finally drop their price down to that. (Even then, Amazon was still selling at $352 and it had free shipping with no tax.) My advice was based from my personal experience on here, but like I said previously, you just have to keep searching around to find a good deal.

I'm not here to try to screw anyone over. Just trying to give advice based on my experience. YMMV.

I will tell you, though, people who sell their own brand items on here will be cheaper than elsewhere. Most of what I said before applies to vendors selling other brands that are not their own.
