eibach pro plus kit

It's time to make the purchase for the whole kit, sways and prokit springs. Found the kit on protuninglab.com for $514 free shipping. Should I jump or is there another site with the price lower?

I paid $600 from the shop I had them installed at. Sounds reasonable to me, Bro. You'll enjoy those, they made a huge difference in my ride. Make sure you change your shocks while the suspension is off. I didn't and had to go back 3 weeks later and have new OEM shocks installed not knowing that the stock shocks wear would be amplified by the new stiffer suspension.

Damn, I'm at 44,550...guess I need shocks then. Can I get away with replacing just fronts for a while?

Thats up to you, my man. I just ate the cost and did front and rear at the same time. It was unforseen, but needed. It made a big difference, I can tell you. If possible when the shocks come off the car manipulate them a bit to see if they feel worn out. They should be pretty hard to compress by hand. My old shocks after being replaced felt mushy and weren't very hard to compress by hand.

Ok, i found 2 fronts struts for $75 a piece on rockauto.com, so I'm looking at $664 for this install, I would do it myself, its got me thinking of coilovers from Ksport.. could get a set for right at $900.

Here's a quick question while I'm here, would I notice a difference with stock sways and ksport coilovers, vs eibach sways and coilovers? This would make the decision most likely easier for me.

If I was changing my springs now that my car has 41K miles I would definitely change the shocks also. When I actually did intall my Eibachs, the car only had like 20K miles so I just reused the stock shocks. Haven't had any problems in the 2 years since. Likewise, I installed Eibachs on my BMW reusing OEM shocks (probably had about 10K miles on them) way back in 2003, and they are still fine 11 years later.

So I don't think it's always mandatory, but for the relatively low cost, it's probably a good idea to change em while you're in there..

If you're happy w/ the exact drop the Eibach provides then the Eibach kit w/ the new struts would be a good plan. If you think you may want it at a different height eventually, or have the ability to drop it a bit more in the summer and raise it up some for the winter the coil setup would be better.
Coilovers will be a bit easier to fine tune for firmness although they'll still be firmer than OEM. I only have coilovers w/ S swaybars and I don't get much body roll, but I don't have a Eibach sway-equipped G to compare. It's one of those mods that you can take w/ progression. If you think coilovers would be better for your long range plan I'd get the coils first and see if you need less body sway w/ your coils set to your liking, if so it's easy to add sways later on. I've had lowering springs prior to my coilovers and the coilovers I've been much happier with. And these are lower priced Megan LP coilovers (which are basically the same as BCs).

^you read my mind, as I was going to ask about Megan products. I take it you def needed adjustable camber arms front and rear for the drop, right?
How much more different are "S" sways vs my journey base sways?

I would highly recommend the full F&R camber/toe pkg when lowering, even w/ a milder Eibach kit, so yes I'd recommend it w/ the coils. Here's the Megan LP set
Megan Racing
These & the BCs replace the thick rear spring cushion w/ a thinner rubber bushing so they will be a bit noisier on washboard type bumps, but other than that they've been fine.

As far as the S sways, I got mine from Rochester when he went to aftermarket sways. To be honest I really didn't see much noticeable difference. I think if I was bone stock and switched over it would have been more significant, but w/ the firmer coils I really don't feel less body roll.
