Custom Brake Calipers?

I've seen pictures of people that have custom painted brake calipers on their car and I think it looks really sweet and I would like to have them on my car. I was wondering if I just paint the ones I already have or if I buy already painted ones. Forgive me if this is a dumb question. Thanks.

It isn't a dumb question at all, I chose to paint my own calipers, I can step you through the process if you are interested. You can also send them off to be professionally powder coated. Powder coat is more durable, and offers a wide color range, but I chose to DIY because I was okay with sacrificing a little bit of quality and because I couldn't remove the calipers for the time it took to get them coated.

3 options really that I can think of..
1- G2 caliper paint (cheap and pretty simple just google it)
2- Tape up and spray paint
3- disassemble and take calipers to get powder coated (obviously a lot more $$)
Options 1 and 2 can still look pretty good if you take your time with prep and paint. Option 3 is what I would do if you can

If you have the smaller Journey brakes it's best to paint them a quiet color like black or gray, you want them to blend w/ the car rather than stand out too much. If you have the big Akebono Sport calipers then you can go as wild as you want since these are a caliper that you want to see
Here's a pic of my Journey brakes in "quiet" black w/a logo sticker applied~

Thanks for all the input guys! I'll probably end up taking them to a professional as I'm awful at this stuff.
