The dust shouldn't be as bad w/ time, sounds like you're pretty easy on the brakes

 

I have project Mu. Very noisy, constant SQUEL even when they are warmed up. They do have good stoping power and very little dust.They are embarrasing when you pull up to a BMW or Mercedes. I will try the Hawk street pads next, hopefully that will cure the problem.

 

Question:

So you can just change out the pads (to Ceramic) when replacing the OEM pads and not have to change out rotors and other break parts?

 

I don't have a lead foot and I downshift all the time, so that certainly helps.

Yep. I only changed my brake pads and resurfaced the stock rotors. Everything is great thus far.

I too was curious. So from what I'm gathering Hawk HPS are best for DD and Light Track. Whereas Hawk Ceramics are only best for DD. Also can anyone tell me in % what the Brake Dust accumulation is on the HPS compared to Stock G37s sport Pads?? Thx!

 

HPS are not track pads. They will fade almost immediately and when overheated they will ruin your rotors if you keep pounding them. They will also glaze over and wear out.

Does thickness mean better stopping power, longer lasting or both?

 

It's the thickness of the pad with back plate when new.

Some pad 'shapes' are used in different cars/applications and have a different overall thickness with everything else the same. Pretty common actually.

You want the one for your car so you are not getting shorted pad material since the metal back plate stays the same.

Yes you certainly can, if they make them.

What is the kit number?

We have a listing on our website that you can find pads for Brembo GT kits.

If you look at our homepage, about half way down the screen to the left there is a filter called "Select your brake upgrade" then select Brembo, and it will ask for you GT Kit #.
