For those of you with aftermarket sways...
I've contemplated upgrading the stock sways on my '12 S - but have some concerns....
For those of you that have changed your sways, have you also replaced your end-links? If so - which ones have you used?
From what I have read - the end-links are the weakest link...ahem...
Finally - according to the Hotchkis site - they only fit the 07-10 Sedan? So...if you happen to have changed the bars on an '11, '12, or '13 - which ones have you used?
Thanks in advance...

Here's a nice long thread on the topic: https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...rs-review.html
I completely whored Ash's thread. Utterly, completely whored it up. LOL Best. Mod. Ever.
AFAIK, end-link upgrades only become necessary if you've lowered the car, and even then, it can take a while, depending on how low you go. The stronger sways don't seem to impact the end-links. However, that's entirely hearsay based on reading up on sways. Mine have only been on for less than 4000 miles.

Holy cow, I've been reading for an hour now and have spun off onto more threads! Thank you Rochester this was a great read.
I was thinking of going Hotchkiss but will have to rethink a bit. I'll also need to research a little more, I was going to go just springs but now I'm thinking coil overs...

I didn't replace end links and did not lower the car. Got sways on the car for 20'000 miles and its been fine. The only thing is that when its really cold out going over speed bumps it makes a crunching sound. From what I read on the forums here it can be fixed by lubricants. Overall I love it. Car handles much better!

I agree that it makes a crunch noise when it's cold out. If you're going to lube it, use silicone grease and not water base lube. Another thing that helps is to loosen the brackets that secure the bushings. That way the grease will make its way in when using a grease gun with a zerk fitting.
Just curious - thanks.
It depends on the conditions and weather of where you live. I grease mine up every 15K miles, or when the noise gets more noticeable.
Also, I think overtime the bushings will get dry to where it will crack and break off if you don't grease it.

The end links aren't absolutely necessary until you lower the car, but there's no harm in swapping them when you do the sways. Whiteline and SPL make rears. SPL is the only option for fronts. Give the bushings some grease at least once a year and you'll be good.

"Is that since new? Does greasing the bushings become a 'normal maintenance' item?"
Just to give you an idea of my driving conditions. I live in the NorthEast (Delaware). The roads in Delaware are pretty good but I also travel to PA alot. Mostly backroads with plenty of potholes. When I first got the Sways on it did not make any noise (Got them installed in the summer). The Winter immediately afterwards was also fine. It just started making that Cruching noise this year. Its only audible when going over large speed bumpbs (At movie theaters). Regular driving they do not make noise at all unless its a huge pothole. Overall not a big deal for me. Infiniti Gs make a lot of rattling noises anyway.
After the Sways were installed the bodyroll is reduced significantly. Makes the car "tight" I guess is the word to describe it.

. I spent most of my life in S Jersey...cousins in Middletown.Anyway - sounds like the grease dries up over time and needs to be refreshed...not a showstopper to me.
Thanks!
