So guys lately I've been hearing this loud winding noise instead of that deep exhaust while accelerating. Not sure how or when this happened. I'm pretty sure this isn't normal so if you guys would be kind enough to help me figure this out it would be appreciated.

Could be a tranny issue, maybe a synchro going out if you have a manual...

 

You might just be noticing the sound of the intake. Where does it come from, can you hear it in one general area?

 

Same on mine, I notice it on moderate acceleration when my windows are down. Sounds almost like a turbo whine.

Just like yellow jacket said. It happens when I turn also.

 

That makes it sound like a power steering issue...
