I have an 08 G35 xs I just put on the akebono BBK from the coupes and the front calipers do not fit my 18" sport rims. Short of getting new rims is there something I can do to make them fit? My understanding when I purchased the kit was that they will clear my 18" rim. Any help would be great thanks

 

Put on spacers.

 

Print this template and use a cardboard backing (like a cereal box) to see how much spacing you'll need. Here's the front & back templates

You'll also need a new spare tire that will clear the Akebonos too.

 

X vs S or Akebono... Way different on offsets... Rims were designed that way... you can put a S rim on yours but not a X rim on a S... thats why even Aftermarket rims are limited to the X like their suspension... way different ... though like blnewt said even your Spare wont work ...
Akebonos are a lrg brake setup...

I realized the spare wont work while cleaning up, thanks for the heads up. I'm gonna measure for the spacers in the morning but if I were to get new rims (lemme see if I got this correct) since I have the akebono brake kit Akebono Infiniti Front and Rear 14 Inch Big Brake Kit w/ Stoptech or Centric w/ Zinc Rotors, 07-08 G35 Sedan, 09+ G37 Sedan, and 08+ G37 Coupe - performance parts I need to order rims that fit an 09 n up sport coupe, that's NOT awd? OR get a used set of 10 spoke G37 19" sport rims

 

No... you'll still need to get the X rim offset... Changing the Brakes doesnt change the length of the axles...Meaning you just tell who your getting the rims from you have an X with Lrg Brakes ir Akebono... they'll know the offset to put on there...

Though my. 02¢ Contact Diego with Vossen and send him a PM asking him which offset just to get a peace of mind and know what your working with and can work with ...

Sedans are limited vs Coupes can add a wider rim... just like a X vs S coupe is different too from what I read and understand ...

And yes a Used set of Sport rims should fit...
