Observations on the G's Brakes

After about 18 months of driving my 2008 G37S Ive noticed a few things about the brakes; both good and bad. At first I thought I might have a bad system; but after driving five or six loaners, from 2011 - 2013 there all pretty much the same. This is not currently, nor will it ever be a track car or weekend racer; but I do drive in the psycho drivers capital of the world (Bay Area California) so I'm kind of particular about my brakes
  1. The initial bite and overall braking is very severe even with small movements of the brake pedal. This is much different from the brakes in my previous car; albeit they were heavily modified. I prefer a pedal that is like stepping on a rock (little if any movement). The human body reacts more accurately to force than movement so I like to modulate the brakes by how hard I press on a relatively unmoving pedal. The G's are certainly nothing like that. Any suggestions on removing the slop from the pedal?
  2. The pads squeal like a mother when there cold. Not a big deal, just a little embarrassing in the mornings
  3. The dealer did a warranty brake job when I complained about excessive judder in the front. He performed the TSB and put new rotors on the front. I was happy as a clam until the weather turned warm and I started driving with the windows down and heard the racket the brakes were making. Its like a rock in a coffee can. Taking the front wheels off I can see the problem is most likely due to pads with no retaining clips holding them to the pistons. Commenting on this to the dealer he told me that stock pads do not come with clips. Come on guys, the G isn't competing with Preludes and Camrys and they don't make this noise. Anyone have recommendations on a better engineered pad that will secure them to the pistons. This is enough to make me rip the stock system off the car and toss it through the dealers window.
  4. The stock fluid seems to accumulate water more quickly than I am accustomed to. I typically only flushed my brake system once every two years on previous cars but the G seems to like it every 12 months. Seems excessive. Any comments, suggestions, recommendations?
  5. Hard braking in DS mode is a recipe for whiplash. Its impossible to brake smoothly and quickly in DS mode since the rev matching feature is not quick enough causing some bucking and jerking. The Trans has been checked and the fluid changed. Dealer says this is normal and based on my test drives of other G's, Id have to agree. Although the 7AT's are better, they all have varying degrees of the same issue. IMHO, the rev matching is to slow, to sloppy or unable to keep up with hard braking conditions. Thankfully my track days are behind me because this would be a deal breaker since I'm not sure if this is something that can be fixed aftermarket or if it would require a new trans with better programming and a better matched brake system

1. Not sure if it's just me but I love having a strong initial bite. Which is this reason why I hate ceramic brakes, they tend to have a soft bite until you smash on the brake pedal which sounds like that's what you like. At first you're not use to it but over time you can judge how much pressure to give the pedal.

2. Mines squeal as well in the cold. Seems to be a common problem with these cars but after my first stop it's gone. Doesn't bother me that much.

I'm not so sure about 3 and 4 since I don't notice my stock fluid accumulating water.

5. I've noticed this from other auto's as well. I'm curious if the 370z auto have the rev match feature like the MT does. Only way around this is to get a 6MT and have full control of your rev match..
