Question on Brakes

I have a 2010 G37xS Sedan Automatic. I wanted to know if the Infiniti Sport Brake kit found on the 6spd G37 will fit on the Automatic. Thanks

I have an '09 G37xS and added the same Akebono sport brakes from the 370Z. Offset of the OEM wheels will clear the calipers, but the brake hose ends are different. Either modify them or go to SS lines. No change to the brake master and the larger calipers make it easier to modulate and feel the braking force.

Will I need wheel spacer with the bigger brake kit.

dkmura: Do you feel the difference after the upgrade.

You have a G37xS, which means you have the identical 18x7.5" front rims as the RWD-Sport, and that's where the big calipers are... so I'm going to say no, you don't need wheel spacers. While you don't have the wider 18x8.5" rear rims found on the staggered RWD-Sport, I can't imagine why that would be a problem for the rear calipers.

Don't get your hopes up for an awesome braking experience, unless you track the car and are looking to reduce brake fade. However, if it's the look your going for, then yes, the OEM BBK is $1500 of awesome.

The car is used as a daily driving car. Im going for looks as well as an improvement in braking too.

^ in day-to-day driving you will not notice much difference. the stock X brakes are very good as-is. the advantage of the S brakes will only really be evident in very spirited driving and track sessions where fade is a concern as well as max clamping force and modulation.

as Roch says though, they sure do look good! you have to evaluate if that is worth the $1500 touch.

Here is mine Xs with upgraded BBK. Although I still have 15mm spacer on, through my research and folks chiming in, it will clear OEM 18 wheels.

Improved braking? Meaning shorter stop distance? Honestly I am clueless when it comes to these type of things. hmmm combination of caliper/rotor/tires? Maybe someone can answer this.

I will say the bbk is more sensitive but you will get use to it in no time. The look of these brake to me is worth the cost.

The stock, non-sport, brakes are more than capable of pulling the car down from high speeds multiple times. Unless you're really hitting the track, the sport brakes are mostly for looks.

Honestly, I would never do this as an upgrade. I'd prioritize suspension, exhaust, intake, a tune, new rear gears, clutch, flywheel, rims & tires long before dumping $1500+ into high-performance brakes on a daily driver. There are always things you can do to make the car handle better and go faster, but at the end of the day and on public roads, you just don't need track-level brakes. And not for nothing, but from what I've read, these Akebono brakes are more for show than actual high-performance braking anyway.

But personally, since they come on the 6MT as OEM parts, I just suffer through it. LOL

OP, my advice is to paint your calipers just like blnewt here did, and call it a day.

Spacers are NOT needed if you use the 370Z/G37 Sport (Akebono) calipers and rotors.

As an active SCCA/NASA road racer, I can feel a difference in braking, but not everybody will. IMHO modulating the brakes (using them from 15% to 100%) is a skill you develop over years of racing. On the street, these brakes might have similar braking distances to the OEM G37xS binders...for the first 2-3 times they are used hard. But after that, the superior heat sink qualities of the monoblock calipers and larger swept area of the rotors will make the Akebono brake package far superior.
