Springs without chamber kit

I've finally decided I want to take the plunge and lower the rocketship a little ...I am looking for a mild drop without having to deal with a chamber kit. So far I have seen that Eibach and Swift put the chamber a little out of whack. Is there a spring that will bring me down a little but be whithin factory specs?

Depends what you consider a little out of wack. A little over spec w/ camber shouldn't cause excellerated wear if it's within reason (like -2.0 or less) as long as the toe is in spec. A good alignment shop can usually get the toe in spec but may have to give it up w/ a bit of camber. Eibachs & Swifts are on the line where you can "usually" get by without kits. But Tanabes are a bit higher up.

A mechanic told me he lowered his Civic Si and had camber out 2 degrees. He said toe was straight. The result was wearing through tires in 5000 miles. He strongly suggested a camber kit for any lowering situation.

Can someone elaborate on how fast my tires will wear out if I lower on Swift without a camber kit?

Did he mean the camber was off by 2 degrees or set at 2 degrees, huge difference there. Good toe and camber at -2 degrees won't wear tires out that quickly, maybe 10% quicker wear but not like that.
If you take your G to a good alignment shop they should be able to get your specs close enough to keep wear minimal w/ a Swift drop, just be sure that toe is in spec.

I'm not sure what he meant by 2 degrees. I think he meant it was out by 2 degrees. I'm going to stick with the advice of the forum. I'll get an alignment and make sure the toe is in spec.

Yep, if it was off by 2 degrees tires would be shredded pretty quick. Look forward to seeing pics when you get it done, and post alignment specs when you can too.

dagon68 started a great thread about his swift springs install, starting on page 5 or so you can see people's alignments after the springs have settled:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...ed-pics-5.html

most are slightly out of spec, but close enough to get by without a camber kit. i'm getting eibach PK's installed on my ride next week and most reviews indicate that you can align to spec without a camber kit.

eibach: F 1.2, R 0.8
swift: F 1.3, R 1.0
the tanabes that black betty posted are definitely the mildest drop with 1.0 all around i think.
