Brake Performance, any reviews?

Anybody order parts from brakeperformance.com?

Their prices are extremely good but how is the quality and durability compared to other large company's such as stoptech?

Thanks.

Those rotors they sell are regular Centric rotors that have been machined with slots, holes, dimples. Centric rotors are just fine. They also produce the rotors for StopTech, Power Slot and certain other name brands. There's nothing special about them and they are perfectly adequate, just pricey for some non functional holes and slots on a regular OEM type rotor.

If you want the exact same rotors a lot cheaper without the holes or slots, buy them at rockauto.com. Great service and cheaper. If you need the fancy cosmetic machining on a basic rotor then brakeperformance.com is relatively cheap.

I just replaced/rebuilt all the brake hardware on my work car (96 Maxima) and the Centric premium rotors were $160. Brakeperformance.com sells the same ones for $193.

Here's a current thread on the Brakeperformance rotors, I just got some but have yet to install them.

I'd say they are at least equal to OEM, but with the added benefit of a sportier look with the holes and/or slots.

I had them installed Monday, the 25th, and so far I am pleased. There is a distinct sound during hard braking due to the holes.

Interestingly enough, I found this article with a quick google search.

As BB said, the cross drilled rotors are for looks, which is why I wanted them. I think they look pretty damn cool. No help as far as performance, though.

Thanks for all the input.

Looks like i'm going to go with the slotted black zinc rotors from brakeperformance.com and the stoptech street performance brake pads.

This combination is used by several people here along with several members on the corvette forums. I'll post up a review of everything once it's installed. I'm sure these are going to look good with my new wheels!

BB, you mentioned that you went with Centric Premium. Do those fall in the High Performance/Heavy Duty category? Do you have any experience with the Daily Driving Category?

The Centric Premium ones are under the Daily Driver category. I made a mistake, the ones I bought are the Centric High Carbon/Power Alloy ones listed in the High Performance/Heavy Duty category. They are about $48 more for a set than the Centric Premium. This is for a 96 Maxima, not the G.
