Looking to buy a set of lightweight rotors any recommendations?

Looking to buy a set of lightweight drilled/slotted rotors.

I got a set of new light weight rims so I would like to finish the combo by getting some quality lightweight rotors.

Any recommendations?

Racing Brake 2pc comes to mind. I think there's a new vendor selling a different brand nowadays, too. Just search for it, it should turn up here in the forums.

FWIW, the weight savings on the 2pc rotors are mostly on the hub. If that's your goal, you may be better off pairing your lightweight wheels with lightweight tires. With the tire weight being further out from the hub, you'll appreciate the weight loss better.

^^ agreed. If they weight savings is further from the hub, the more profound the affect will be on acceleration. As such, if you got tires that are 3 lbs lighter each, you would feel that probably more than rotors that save 10 lbs per. However, the 2 piece rotors would be less unsprung weight, so you will essentially feel less bounce and have a more planted, smoother ride, especially on bouncy roads. Up to you if you feel like spending $2k on rotors. They will be less expensive to replace in the future because of the 2 piece design. However, its up to you if 2K is worth it for rotors.

And yes, I would say racing brake offers the best direct replacement 2 piece rotors for the sport kit.

If you really want to pay what 2 piece rotors cost, then yes Racing Brake is the best of the bunch. Not many people are actually willing to pay that much for 2 piece rotors when most people's brake "upgrades" are mostly cosmetic and much less than the cost of a set of lightweight 2 pc rotors or the high cost of replacing the rings when the time comes.

another +1 for racing brake front and rear rotors, no more vibrating steering wheel braking from triple digits speeds and they are a lot lighter than the stock rotors.

I can get you front 2 piece rotors and 1 piece rears less than half the price of 2k.

Sort of reviving a 6yr old thread...and despite not having anywhere close to $1k saved, I'm interested to hear more about your lightweight 2 pc front and 1 pc rear rotors. If you're still on here, I have several questions:
1) Why should we (or I) invest in your company's rotors and brakes over a more well known company's? Leaning more on the quality and engineering of your work.

2) Do you have a link for your products...these mentioned specifically?

3) What caliper and brake components are now needed on your lightweight rotors?

4) What's the maximum front and rear rotor size you offer for a 2012 G37x sedan?

Thanks,
Nick
