Hey guys, I finally decided to lower my car and I'm going with the Eibach pro-kit. I wanted to confirm that are the correct springs for the IPL. Also I was wondering if any other IPL or Coupe users had pictures of their car lowered on these springs. If I remember correctly I saw a graphite shadow IPL/vossen wheels on these or maybe not. Thanks for any help!

 

It's a 50k plus car, why not save up for some coilovers and do it right?

 

He has a VERY good point! If you can afford an IPL, then you SHOULD be able to afford some descent coils. Tanabe go for roughly 850 and probably the best bang for your buck.

Are there any handling or driving benefits from switching to coilovers from springs? I am pretty happy with the way the eibach pros hang. Seems like a lot of wasted money if the only added benefit would be too change the settings.

 

I had the pro kit on my S2000 about 10 years ago. Don't expect those OEM shocks to last very long with that combo. If you're looking for a cost effective solution look into the Stance GR Coilovers or Tanabe. Do it right the first time

 

I tried Tein S-Tech springs, then tried the Tanabe Sustec Pros and now have Stance. It's not a waist of money at all, go coilovers.

If you are going to modify your IPL please do it right.

 

Let me take a more objective approach instead of just telling you what to do with your car. Yes, the Eibach Pro Kits will work for your IPL. There are plenty of options out there for you if you plan to lower your car and many G37 owners have had great results with installing just a set of springs, such as the Eibachs you mentioned or another good option would be the Swift springs. Do a search on this site and you'll find plenty of info on the two said springs.

BTW, what was your reasoning on just choosing to install a set of aftermarket springs? If your goal is purely aesthetic, then a set of springs might do you over. You could also go the option of installing the springs to your OEM shocks. Then, later on you can upgrade your shocks and use the Eibach springs on a set of Koni yellow shocks, for example. However, that route will have its limitations. There are definitely benefits in choosing a coilover system over a simple spring install. Simple logic will tell you that the OEM shocks were not designed to work with the stiffer spring rate and lower height profile of aftermarket springs. I'm sure you are also aware that many coilover systems have superior materials and adjustability than your OEM shocks that would yield better handling characteristics.

Hello, I am fairly new to the forums and just traded my 350z in for a g37. I purchased my z with aftermarket springs and the stance was good. I would like to produce the same outcome for my g. However with limited knowledge, and basing most of it off these forums I am not sure which to choose. Are there additional components which need to be purchased if coils are used? I do not plan to drop my car drastically, just some to reduce the space.

Actually, your IPL already comes with improved dampers which you've paid extra for. Why throw them away just yet? Get some Eibach springs and call it a day honestly. I had them for 4 years on my G37 with zero issues.

 

Eibach is making a kit just for the IPL. Don't get the normal prokit. Make sure you get the one with the IPL part number.# 63105.140 you don't want # 6388.140

Also Kwv1 would do you best! I love love mine and would never buy anything but KW. Unless you are going to track your car. I would recommend the KW Club sports or even HKS HYpermax3

 

Get Swift springs, and be done!!


There are no advantages to "Coilovers" on a G, maybe if you're tracking.
due to height adjustment.
Our cars already come with coilovers on the front.
The aftermarket rears aren't even real coilovers.

Im running Swift Springs on Konis, the car sits at the perfect height for street and canyon use.
