X drivers with Hotchkis Sways

When you guys installed your sways did you notice your steering become a little looser or change in a negative way. I have my front on the stiffest and rear in the middle, and the steering feels not as responsive. Anyone have the same problem? If I change it to stiffest in the rear its a little better, but not as tight as I want it.

Since the AWD is heavier in front would the best setting be the stiffest for the rear?

I also use the same settings on my 10' X Coupe. I did notice a change in the feel of the steering, but I wouldn't say it's not as responsive. It's definitely stiffer than stock was, which I guess could be taken to feel not as 'responsive.' I remember it feeling a little harder to turn at first, but that was just part of me having to adjust. How long have you been on yours? Maybe you just need some more time with them?

I can say it definitely feels tighter when cornering, especially if I'm pushing it. I noticed that right away on my test-drive after the sways were installed; It felt like I could accelerate harder through a turn and it wouldn't break loose.

If you do decide to change your adjustments on the front / rear, you'll feel a difference right away, especially in a turn. Personally, I wouldn't want to be any tighter on the rear setting, as it already feels super-tight and I wouldn't want to increase the potential to over-steer any more than it's currently set. Hope that helps. Let us know what you end up doing.

i have had mine for prob two months and i have driven on the stiffest setting and like it better but in the rain im scared im gonna fish tail out. I want to keep it in the middle but the steering just feels very light in that setting. I may have installed them wrong but im pretty sure i didnt, this is my second set also had them on my previous car. Could over torquing the nuts have anything to do with it? Also i installed them using ramps which im pretty sure is an ok way but I could be wrong. Maybe its my tires? I also feel like I have to correct the steering more in the middle setting, when I turn it doesnt snap back as I would like it to.

I've had Hotchkis Sways on my X sedan for almost a year and I haven't experienced what you describe. Same settings as you.

Did you put them on after your springs and what kind of tires. I think it may be my tires combined with the sways that is making my steering light

I prob over tightened everything cuz I didnt have a torque wrench maybe that is it but prob not. Another member had the same problem and he said the lightness went away when he changed tires.
