Adjusting BC Coilovers...Quick Question
Im looking to raise my car. After I loosen the lower lock ring, it says to turn the smaller top lock ring clockwise (Left to right) Shouldnt it be right to left if you're looking at it from the side? Lmao. Am I understanding this wrong?
*Raising Vehicle
To raise the vehicle you begin by putting the tape on the threads where they go into the lower strut mount (where the lower lock ring was). To raise you use the opposite top locking ring which is the lower and smaller of the two. Using the smaller spanner wrench turn the strut clockwise (Left to Right) until the tape raises the required height. Remove the tape and lock down the lower locking ring.*
So let me try to get this right, all I need to do is loosen the lower lock ring and turn the lower top locking ring to the front of the car and ill raise it right?? Thats the same for both sides, turning to the front of the car?
Thanks for any help!

To lower: turn upper shock body(top rings) to the left.
To raise: turn upper shock body(top rings) to the right.
Make sure you put the spanner wrench on the correct ring so you don't mess the spring pre-load up.
BC coilovers are a little tricky because they're not true-coilovers.
I can grab the shock body and easily spin it into or out of the lower mount to lift or raise.

Incorrect.
As was pointed out previously, do not mess with the rings where the spring seats.
You need to loosen the single ring on the bottom of the shock. Once that is done, grab the entire upper shock body by wrapping your hands around the threads and turn the entire shock. The upper shock will rotate around on the upper mount. you will be screwing the entire upper shock body into the lower shock housing.
If you play with the top rings you will change the tension (preload) on the spring which you are not supposed to do.

I love how im getting and finding 20 different answers. I turned the smaller lower ring on the top to the right, it raised the vehicle and the ride is still the same. Thanks.

If you didn't actually turn the threaded shock body into (out of) the lower housing you didn't do it correctly. There are about 10 different DIY instructions that tell you how to do this and I'm not sure I can make it any more clear. When raising the car, the BC racing guys also recommend that you don't raise it so much that you cannot see the inner part of the shock housing when you look through the sight holes on the lower part of the shock housing.
This video is for a different set of coilovers, but I believe the adjustments are similar.
