I would reconsider the CRV, totally unbreakable. I see many at the Honda dealer when I take my Accord in for service that have 150K on them. Same for Subbies. If you like the Venza get a used RX350, much more style. Gas mileage sucks though about the same as the G without the mojo. My wife has one so I know it well. Very quiet highway cruiser and very capable in the snow (AWD). I see someone mentioned the CX-5. It just got a rave review from C&D, slower than CRV though but better gas mileage and handling.

Great call on the 2012 CRV, I actually visited two local Honda dealers this past weekend, the negotiable price off MSRP is only 1k.. and dealers cant use the dealer cash to drive down the cost, so .. roughly it's about 26K plus TTL for a 2012 brand new CRV. I'm considering getting one this weekend

Venza's front grill looks not attractive, I wouldn't consider it.

I'm bouncing back and forth between Mazdaspeed 3 and Veloster Turbo. Kinda leaning towards the MS3 more tho'. They both got decent front, rear and cargo space... FWD so pretty safe. Lastly, it's TURRRRBO.

Veloster looks good in pics Ive seen online. In person it looks horrible. MS3 all the way. Huge aftermarket for it, too.

I prefer European/Japanese models, I'm seeking anyone input what would you suggest for in between 22K - 30K. Either SUV or car.

Test drove a Honda CRV ,.. too slow..

Any inputs is appreciated.

I'm sorry but some of these posts are utterly f*cking ridiculous.
A family car should be an SUV. It's convenient and has everything you need: space and a big trunk.
If you're buying, whether it's new or used (I'd highly suggest used unless you can cough up that much money), you go with either: Toyota or Honda (including Lexus & Acura).

Personally, I've owned the RAV4 and we just sold it when we got the G, it was amazing. It was an 06' Sport 4cylinder. Very gas efficient and for what it was, it was worth every penny. Very strong, very safe. Bought for around 18-19k I believe in 08. Sold for 11k just a few weeks ago. That's roughly 1k a year depreciation which is ridiculous. Never went to the shop for anything but to change brakes once (and the 2 accidents it's been in; outside damage only)

If you want to get a little classy, I suggest the Lexus RX, a few years old.
Personally, for a family car I'd pick Lexus>Acura. But to each his/her own.

If you plan to buy used and aren't sure what price range you should shoot for, you can PM me. I used to help my dad out a couple years back when we bought and sold cars at auctions. I still have an account on there & it tells you the High, normal, & Low (avg.) prices for the specific cars being sold.

Good luck!

Do yourself a favor and don't buy a silly Kia, Mazda, and whatever other garbage people posted. You're throwing money straight into the air and never getting it back.

EDIT:
Honda's are a bit more expensive than Toyotas, and for some reason they also hold their price up more. Forgot to mention that one.
I feel like the RAV4 has to have that wheel on the trunk otherwise it looks ridiculous & I personally don't like the new body. I like the SUV's that have a more "squarish" body. Yet I like the sedan's with the "circular" body. Weird, but that's my opinion.
