installed new rotors and pads

well i just got done installing my new powerstop slotted front rotors and hawk hps pads front and rear. I did also shave the rear rotor just enough to get a clean surface. my initial reactions with this set up is that the cold braking feels a little mushy, but after the first two stop signs the brakes got some heat and feel much better than stock. i have only gotten the bed in procedure done following the steps provided and i must say, the hotter these brakes got the better they felt. it wasnt untill after the fouth hard stop that the brakes just started fading and thats also after about eight medium stops. im very pleased so far and will update when i get some more time on the brakes. pictures to come tommorrow when its daylight out.

Hawk hps pads will always have a weak bite when cold. They bite hard when the brakes are up to operating temps. That's why I no longer use them.

yes but they get up to temp rather quickly so for me its not really a negative. one or two stops and the bite is already better

well i have a little update since doing the bed in process late last night. today when driving the car for the first time the initial cold bite has much improved and feels very good. the same can be said for once the rotors got some heat into them. not once under normal braking repeatedly did i feel any indication of fade. overall i am very happy with this brake setup and will stick with it.

I'm using Project Mu NS pads. Better bite than oem hawk hps and little dust.
