Help Front Camber

Question Front Camber

So on my '08 G37S coupe I only changed the rear camber when I lowered the car on Tein S-Techs. I didn't have any issues concerning tire wear, aligment or anything else as far as I can remember. I had the car lowered on stock. My decision to do that was based on my own thinking. I didn't really engage in the forum back them. Now that I am actively on this site, I've noticed that people are doing front and rear. Are there any confirmed reasons why fronts are necessary. Can anyone give me an example or something from their own personal experience? With my experience, fronts were unnecessary at the time. My reason for being concerned is because I will be putting '20 Vossens on my new '11 this time so I am not sure if that will propose a change from the stock...as from as camber is concerned that is. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't plan on changing the front camber

Front camber isn't adjustible with stock parts. If you lower the front enough to take the camber and toe settings out of spec, a front camber kit will allow it to be adjusted back to within spec.

Your camber settings 100% depending on how low you'd like to lower your car. The lower you drop your car, the more natural negative camber you get. There's really not definite answer if you "need" or "don't need" front and rear camber kits, its just "advised".

You want to stay round or within -2 camber or less. This keeps you within stock specs, and will ensure (as long as your toes are dead on) that you'll have even tire wear.

I once had S techs w the rear spc only with the Vossens, i did notice camber wear but u can always flip your tires from left to right but a front camber kit will help save your tires and the trouble.

I think the reason you didn't see guys doing front camber adjustments a few years back is because the kits to do so didn't exist.
Running additional negative camber up front will cause accelerated wear of the inside of your tire tread, it's not too bad if you have your toe angle absolutely perfect. It seems if you run a little toe out or toe in over the stock setting it will eat your front tires in short order. I got 10-12k on my fronts are at 50% but the inner 1" are corded, my rears are at 50% and evenly worn. When I installed my springs I did my alignment right away, after the springs settled I never revisited the front toe angle (the car tracks perfectly straight) The toe angle changed as the front springs settled accelerating my tire wear. So it doesn't have to be off much to adversely effect tire life.
So my advise is if you don't get a front camber kit just make sure that your toe angle is spot on and you will get acceptable tire wear.

if changed my front camber out to SPC because the rear camber for our car is adjustable but our fronts are not. so i figure i would replace the front so i have adjustability on both front and rear. keep in mind im not that low im dropped on eibachs.

The rear of our cars is not 100% adjustable. Slightly, but not enough to bring it within spec without an aftermarket camber/toe kit.

Also, mikelr is correct when he says that they're relatively new. Within the past 2 years, the front arms were revised a few times to prevent them from hitting the fenders.

Good information guys, much appreicated!. I think just for safe measures I will get the front camber. I like my car low and low and I'd like to have it low without having to worry about spending money on tires.
