May be my favorite thing about my G37. No brake dust!

I don't know about you guys but 3 weeks in I have had nothing more than a light layer of brake dust on my rims that are barely noticeable. My last car would have a dark layer on the front rims after a week and we all know what a PITA that is to clean. I remember a buddy of mine had a 1st gen G35 coupe and he used to have black rims after a week as well and his pads would also be shot after 20K.

Does the current gen use carbon brake pads because I have read those are much cleaner and apparently last just as long as ceramic which as far as I know most olders cars use.

True carbonfiber brake pads require carbon brake rotors, which would be cost prohibitive. Infiniti has come up with a brake compound that is low dusting, but probably compromised in other areas.

3 times so far and last Sunday I put on a coat of Autoglym HD wax and I'll probably put another coat on in the next month before the winter really hits. Black is a PITA to keep clean but boy does it look nice when it's clean. Heck even dirty it still looks damn good.

Whatever they did, I'm just happy they did it because nothing annoys me more that filthy rims after a week.

Yeah the clean rims are a GREAT feature... the other car is a Volvo S60 and it has terrible dusting on the rims after 1 day of driving - dark black after a week!

Coming from a few BMW's, I couldn't agree more. This is a very nice feature!
