Winter = Eibach Spring?
Winter = Eibach Spring?
Hi everyone,
I have a 08 BS G37s 2dr
I have a question. I live in Toronto and I am just wondering if I can handle the snow with Eibach Spring and 18" rim& winter tire for the winter. (approximately 10-20cm max.)
THANK YOU!

I used to live in Toronto and drove my G (6MT) coupe every day. Where do you live and how far to do you have to commute? I used to do the North York <-> Mississauga drive daily and it wasn't a problem for me at stock height and 18" Nokian WR G2 tires (235/50/18, not 225/50/18).
Eibachs are gonna give you 1.2" drop in the front and 0.8" drop in the back (pro-kit). I seriously doubt it will give you any problems unless you live in the suburbs and the roads aren't plowed that often and there are stop signs everywhere.
I almost got stuck a couple times at a friend's condo parking lot after a huge snowstorm. 235 wide tires and non-dedicated winter compound probably added to the problem of potentially getting stuck. But if you drive smart and stay to main roads with good tires, you should be fine.
If you wanted to have a 'safe' car for all-seasons, you should find yourself an AWD model that can fit 17" rims and winter tires.
PS Where I live now has much less snow and the roads are cleared very quickly -- no problems.

Hey..
I am studying in Waterloo, and I used to drive a benz which is also RWD but I have no problem at all prbly becoz my awesome winter tires. Nonetheless, thank you for your reply. Due to last year large amt of snow fall, my car is fine and only get stuck once.
Right now, I am considering either S-tech or Eibach Spring.

I have the same delema. I want to lower but live in edmonton. I think the safest rout is to go with coilovers. That way you can raise it up in the winter. That is the direction I am thinking of going after thinking about it since 2008 now. lol
i thought of that but then I m under budget...Just bought fujitsubo exhaust...(which I didnt plan to but is on clearance!! cant help it). Also, I m not tracking, coilover to me is kinda too much. BC racing + camber kit is like $1500....I cant
