4 wheel alignment ??

Hi,

I had my car at the dealer a couple weeks ago, when I picked it up the service advisor stated that the technician recommended a 4 wheel alignment. I had taken the car in for battery/slow start & cluster hood rattle, nothing related to suspension. I haven't noticed any driveability issues with the car, and the tires look to be wearing evenly. There are approx 32k miles on the odometer. So, I'm wondering if I should have it done, or if the dealer is just trying to make some money. What do you guys think? Are there any other signs that I should look for that would indicate the need for an alignment?

Thanks,
David

Well, tires are usually the easiest indicator for the need of an alignment.. Does your cart pull when you drive it on a straight road?

Tire wear, pulling to one side, and getting new tires (just to be sure you get the most out of them) are good times to get an alignment. It's pretty cheap..$80-$110 and never a bad idea. I'd have asked... why the recommendation.. did he see wear or feel it pulling?

Yeah, I'm not seeing any uneven wear and the car definitely does not pull to one side or the other. I have to take it back on Tuesday for a SES light, I was going to ask him about it then.

Thanks

I don't get an alignment, when I have new tires installed, unless there is uneven tire wear or the car doesn't track straight, when you remove your hands from the wheel.
I figure if I'm happy with the present setup, why have someone screw with it.
