Calipers with stock rims

Hey guys - I have the base model 2009 G37 coupe and I'm trying to put on some after market calipers on and potentially rotors also. i just wanted to see if you guys knew whether or not they'll fit with the stock rims. it looks pretty tight in the front.

also - any suggestions on calipers / rotors? i've been looking at akebono and ap racing calipers and rotora drilled and slotted rotors but i'm not sure if they're a great choice and i have no idea where to buy them!

thanks!

I went F/I with my car and prior to that I decided to get those rotera rotors and leave the stock calipers with hawk brake pads. The cars stopping power is great but my rotors rusted the first time i drove through a puddle. makes me sick to my stomach to look at them. If I were you I would go with something different

Rotors will rust regardless...unless you get the rotors coated with the black.

This. Rotors rust. Even zinc-plated rotors designed to resist rust are not exempt from experiencing rusting. It's tough to avoid. For the most part, as soon as you drive and stop a few times the rust comes off...

^^^ This is true because the wheels are 18's. If you have the stock 19's from the sport setup, then the calipers will clear no prob...

PS. Our cars no longer have Brembo caliper options from factory, only akebono. (The G35 was the last to offer that) Also, any aftermarket caliper with a 6/4 setup will clear the 19's. You only have to start thinking of even bigger rims if you go with an insane setup with like 12 piston calipers... I'm talkin to you SOLO!

hey guys i was looking at ebay for brembo calipers and i came across these caliper covers and wanted to see if anyone has heard of it before... basically its just a cover that covers the caliper and makes it look like a brembo caliper..

let me know what you think..

heres the pic from ebay

This falls under the definition of "Rice" and may impede your brake performance; spend your money on some rims instead.

i kno i dont want to do this but its also coming up on winter and i don't want to upgrade my wheels and tires right now. i calculated it and it would cost me around 6000 to upgrade wheels tires and then also do calipers / rotors. i wouldnt mind upgrading the wheels in the spring but i'm going to run into the same problem as soon as put the oem wheels back on.

i'm wondering if spacers are a viable option for getting a big enough clearance to put legitimate calipers on. that would be ideal.

The 18" OEM 350Z rims clear the BBK without spacers; I have them on my car:

i looked into it and the stock g37 wheels will not clear those calipers. i talked to infiniti and have read about it here also. thats the reason i'm trying to come up with another way to make it work

Won't the stock 18" on the Sedan Sport clear Akebonos?

hey guys i reached out to conceptzperformance regarding the wheel spacers and they said that they would give me enough clearance for the akebono kit. they also sell the full kit including drilled / slotted rotors for $1500 so i'm leaning towards doing that. any thoughts on the price of the kit (it includes the akebono calipers and drilled / slotted rotors)
