We all know how small the rear sway bar is on the AWD, so I decided to replace it with a larger bar!

With the help from a fellow forum member (hispeed-lowdrag) I purchased his OEM Sport rear bar, got it today and installed it. Took about 1/2hr to install, just have to lower rear exhaust hangars and remove 8 bolts.

btw sway bar is from a 2009 G37S coupe and fits perfect!
took a quick drive and car feels more neutral, everything else is stock for suspension.

I don't have any pics from the install, but here are some comparison shots of the 2010 OEM bar and the 2009 coupe sport OEM bar.

Can you post the part number for the sport OEM rear sway bar? Looks like it uses larger diameter bushings too. Did you need to order those as well?

Yea I noticed how small the rear bar was on the car when doing an oil change on a lift. The front bar is pretty beefy but I still can't believe how small the rear is, my Alty SE-R had a bigger rear sway. This has got me thinking about the next oil change I do, might have to get one!

Yes, you need the bushings and brackets as well, they are indeed larger to fit the larger bar. I bought this used so I made sure to ask that they included the bushings.

Thanks. I checked at infinitipartsusa.com and they list the '09 coupe (without active rear steering) swaybar for $135.86 and the bushings for $4.05 each. Sounds like its worth the upgrade.

Anyone know why infinitiparts lists two available sway bars for the sedan? One for 2WD and one for 4WD. Is one thicker than the other?

What about "S" 2WD version? Is the "S" 2WD sway bar the same as the non "S" 2WD?

The AWD sedan one is skinny, relatively speaking. I think the 2WD S is the thickest.

Can you describe the "more neutral" a bit more? Does it make a noticable difference at highway speeds when making turns? Are you saying this helps with the huge understeer we got?

I did this mod last week on my 2008Xs. It definitely is a worthwhile mod in my opinion. It definitely helps on some of the body roll and it will make the car slightly more neutral. Its really the only option for an AWD as the aftermarket bars are too stiff for the rear on the AWD and won't match up well with the front stock bar. The aftermarket fronts don't fit the AWD.

At least on the 2008, the 2wd and 2wd sport are the same bar. There is only the smaller AWD rear bar and the 2wd rear bar.

on my 2008, I only needed to order the bar and two bushings. The brackets are reused.

I have a 2010 X sedan, and I'm looking to minimize body roll on turns. I heard that the sway bars are the way to go. I was recommended to get Hochkins, they were around $375. Will I notice a great difference in body roll? Is it an easy swap between the factory one? Will it void my warranty?

only the rear sway bar will fit. Just get yourself a used "S" sway bar from a coupe or sedan RWD.
