OEM or Aftermarket Rotors?
OEM or Aftermarket Rotors?
Brake experts,
I want to buy a set of spare rotors for my '08 G37 Journey (Performance Package 19in wheels, stock pads for now). Are there any reliable sources for OEM or third party rotors? One place had Winhere, but I never heard of them. I don't want to order them online then have to return 100 pounds of metal
.
BTW, I don't think I want to switch to slotted rotors right now. I worry about not being able to turn them (is that an issue with all slotted rotors?). I am considering ceramic pads, but not certain yet. I do a couple of track days per year.
(I want to have a turned set ready so I when do a brake job, I don't have to work around the grinding shop's schedule. I will keep the car for 100k+ miles, so I assume I will eventually need a second set).
Thanks for any suggestions.

Does not sound like you are looking for slotted/drilled for performance or appearance, so the cheapest solution would be to buy a set of low mileage OEM rotors from someone local (so don't have to ship) who has done an upgrade to their rotors. Have them turned and have a new set of pads ready.
Other than that, there are several manufacturers that make OEM rotors. I have used rotors and ceramic pads from Brake Performance on my Nissan 4WD truck and they have fine so far (few thousand miles) and they were lot less than cheapest Nissan OEM I could find online.
