Get the KW V3 if you want real performance.
Frankly, a G37 on the tanabe feels like a boat.

Are these coilovers the way to go if ride quality is my main concern? (Well main concern right after lowering more than stock of course)

Yes. Tanabe is still a coilover, so it's like a shock+spring combo plus the height adjustability..
