50 or 60 bucks at pepboys. get a medium length handle if there are choices. mine is probably 2' long, that's a decent length.

Also, just so you're aware... the stock end-links may not be strong enough to handle the amount of force the new bar instills on it.

plus the angle of bolt going into the bar will be different than stock if your car is lowered.

my end links make noise when moving slowly over surface imperfections due to being very lowered and with aftermarket sways.

i've contacted SPL about making adjustable end links for our cars to mitigate this problem.

hm... I'm not lowered only aftermarket are my hotchkis sways.. The noise is very minimal now so.. could it be normal? I guess I'll have to check the torque and make sure they are to spec..

check the TQ for sure as it may resolve the issue. however, don't be surprised if the noise is still there. if it is, it's either the endlinks themselves making the noise, or the shop didn't lube up the bushings enough. the latter is doubtful though.

you should check the TQ pretty soon. if they're loose enough, driving could cold work the bolt and eventually snap it off, leaving one side of your car unstabilized.

Ok, so for future references if anyone else is installing the sways, here are the factory specs:

Front

endlinks = 84ft-lb
bushings = 50.5ft-lb

Rears

endlinks = 55ft-lb
bushings = 33.5ft-lb

I'm not sure why, the instructions say to only do 40ft-lbs for the hotchkis sways??

Ft./lbs. are the last number in parenthesis, not the first number which is Newton meters.

i just read that part in the GI PDF. looks like i've been over-torquing bolts!

oh well, better to over torque than under torque.

Doofus!

In most cases it won't hurt, but for some things you can screw it up buy over torquing (wheels lugs, anything in the aluminum block or heads, etc.) Be careful.

I need a long handled torque wrench, mine only goes up to 80 ft./Lbs. and is only about 12" long or so. It's really designed for low torque work. Anybody know where I can get a longer handled one that torques higher that won't break the bank? I think mine was about $25-30 when I bought it a long time ago at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Buy a floor jack and stands for probably around $100. Buy ramps for $50.

If you are going to work on you car, get the right tools. There is no substitute for having the right stuff you need and you can't learn it if you are paying a shop to do it for you.
