Camber is the degrees by which the wheel is tilted. From the factory looking from behind, the wheels are leaning slightly inward. That is negative camber. Negative camer can improve stability and handling.

Because of the G's suspension geometry, lowering the car will increase camber. Increased camber will lead to premature tire wear unless you drive unusually hard.

Again, I'd seek the advise of a shop experienced with AWD G's before proceeding.

I can almost guarentee that most guys responding to your post are unaware that you are AWD.

Here is a Tanabe drop it's very subtle but you can tell a little difference. Additionally they should settlea little over time:

Like Mike said however since you are AWD you may need to consult someone who knows thesetup better

Kahboom & Mike: Yeah, I see what you guys are saying. I guess I'll have to contact a local shop around here to see what they recommend for the AWD G...and if they'd even recommend a drop.

Thx a lot for posting pics...this definately gives me a better idea. You're right about it being pretty subtle. I think given my conditions, may not be a good idea to open pandora's box on this item. Probably be best to spend the money on other mods.

Thx guys!

Woh! Quite aggressive indeed. Man, that car definately has bite, that's for sure. See, now I know for sure the front of that car would be WAY too low for me. There's a few roads that I take that have some pretty big a$$ bumps. Well, guess this whole dropping idea just won't be smart for me. If I drop too much = big mistake....If I drop a little = too subtle to notice difference. Thx again

coils dont exist for G37X as of yet...
also i think the X sits higher then the G37 and G37S models from what i've seen... maybe its just the pictures

also when dropping awd make sure you dont go too low as your awd mechanism sticks out and will scrape on everything. i honestly would not drop it on springs. i would wait for coils so you can adjust the stiffness to max so you can have a nice drop. springs will not achieve what you are looking for. especially for a "safe drop"

The AWD G sits higher than the RWD G to help clear all the snow, mud, etc.
I love the way the G looks with a drop, but it just doesn't seem to make sense to drop the X model.

J.Oh & BiskitG37...that's good info guys. I had no idea it's bad to drop the AWD model. Certainly doesn't appear to be a wise move on my part. To be honest, only reason I went for the '09 was bc of the AWD aspect of it. I'm a horrible winter driver and this just seemed to make the most sense. Now with winter tires & rims, this thing is amazing on the road, especially when others are slipping all over the place.

Guess this will just be one mod that I'll have to turn my back on and wiser to spend the money elsewhere.

Thanks for the input boys!

Since you have the X, I would go the other way and jack it up

Seriously, lowering the 4WD would be bad and I would check on any potential warranty issues if something should get messed up with the drivetrain.

you know they say (or atl least the chix say lol).. beauty is pain

you want to look better at the price of wearing your shocks/scraping the hell out of your car?

If its the gap thats bothering you.. work on some kind of kit (Í've got a body shop studying the feasibility of that already) to basically eliminate gap without lowering my ride

construction in Dubai sucks I'd be scraping all over the place.. hell I've scraped a few times with the stock setup

my 2 fils
