To those on coilovers, a few questions...

I originally posted this on G35driver.com, but got very little answers, so please bear with me. I searched the other side in the general suspension/brake forum, and I've searched in the 07+ forum, but my questions are a little more specific than the topics I found so any responses would be helpful. I didn't get many responses there, so I thought I might get more help here.

I'm looking into suspension mods for my 08' G35 sport sedan, specifically coil overs, until Hotchkis has their sways ready for me to decide between theirs and Stillens. The suspension on our car is much too soft, has far too much body roll than I prefer, and is far too underdamped. I came from a Mustang with full suspension (H&R sports, Bilstein HDs, Maximum Motorsports parts, etc etc) and the two don't compare (sadly). Not even close.

Here's where I'm at:
*I can live with a higher spring rate (I'm used to it) and a stiffer shock/strut.
*I don't mind sacrificing ride quality for better handling.
*I'll be dropping it an inch at most, maybe even less.
*It must NOT creak/pop/thud/etc after installation from the COs.*Very important*
*I don't mind paying the premium for a CO versus springs/shocks.
*Installation isn't an issue as I have access to a lift and air tools.
*Shock/strut body must be galvanized at minimum, stainless is even better (salty air here).
*The car is street driven and will not be tracked, so I don't necessarily need a $2000+ CO. The Mustang was never tracked either.

Here's my questions pertaining to CO's:

1. What brand are you running?
2. Why did you choose this particular brand? A technical answer would be preferred, rather than "they're the ****," etc.
3. Where did you make the purchase, ie store/vendor?
4. How much did you pay? If you don't want to post, PM me please.
5. How much lower than stock did you drop?
6. Any strange noises after the drop?
7. Are you running A/M end links?
8. If "yes," to #7, what brand?
9. At what drop amount are end links considered "necessary?"
10. Are you happy with your purchase, or do you wish you chose a different brand?
11. Anything else to add?
12. And most importantly, what brands/models will work on my car (if you know).

So, any feedback/recommendations from those of you with personal experience is greatly appreciated. I come from a domestic/european market, so many of the brands here (the non "big name" ones) are unknown to me.

Do you know what Coils are availible for the sedan? as I am unaware of them.... But I am going with KWs this weekend and they seem to be the type of system you are wanting... 2000s... made well ... no noise... great adjustablity.... Stay away from BC or Megan as they tend to make a lil noise...

There's a guy (BLUESLATE) on G35driver that's on JIC prototypes. I PMd him about the setup. Other than those, I've only found Teins or BC/Megan, but the BC/Megan were supposed to be noisy and clunk so they're out.

The separate and independent compression and rebound damping options allow a truly individual driving set-up. These unique systems with the 3 individually adjustable components, allows for adjustment of the compression of the damper in the low-speed range, while the highspeed set-up, so decisive for driving comfort, has been preset by our engineers.

this is for KW variant 3's. I might be mistaken.

• Independently adjustable damping technology -rebound and compression damping
• "inox-line" stainless steel technology
• Individual height adjustment
• German TUEV-tested adjustment parameters
• High-quality components for long life
• Comprehensive documentation for ease of use
• Infinitely adjustable rebound damping
• 14- level adjustable compression damping
• Unique, independently functioning damping power adjustment

Here's the JIC spec:

They state the FAS as 10 way adjustable, but they cost less than the KW V3. The TARs are 15 way.
