Warped Rotors!

I was just wondering if warped rotors are under warranty?
I have almost 15k miles right now and the noise is coming from the rear when the car is cold when i roll slower than 5 miles I can hear it, but after i start driving the noise goes away.

Any thoughts would help!

Thanks!

Nope. They're not covered as a wear item. It won't hurt to ask your dealer to see if he will do a brake job out of goodwill, but they are not covered.

Are you sure they are actually warped and it's not just a light coating of rust that forms on them from humidity? Do you feel a pulsation in the pedal when you apply the brakes firmly? Any other symptoms of warpage?

No way they are covered. Wearable items are not. Brakes, tires, clutch, etc....no dice!

Dang Alex warped rotors already??? I'm up to 18K miiles and my brakes are still goin strong! It might be what Betty said, a light coat of rust that eventually gets warn off... I know my brakes squeek a lil when I get done washing the car... Time for the Brembos!!!

^^I concur with BlackBetty and it's probably the overnight rustman doing his thing. Unless you are feeling the pulsing under braking it's probably nothing.

Same problem. When I had my KW installed, I asked the shop to spray some anti-break squeak and it helped a lot. Still some squeak once in a while.

doesn't sound like a warp issue to me. but if it is, I bet you Infiniti would cover it. they covered brake issues on the 03 G35's up to 15K miles I think.

i park in the garage so my brakes dont build up rust.
it only happens for the first 5 mins when i start my car after i brake a couple times it goes away. its a rotational sound, so im pretty sure its coming from the brakes. i called tustin infiniti where i bought my car from. they said they have to look at it and decide if they will cover or not. if they are not covered, i will have to pay 125 dollars for their inspection, but if they are going to cover thats great news, which i think is retarded. it doesnt really bother me that bad, and i dont feel a difference when i brake so... i dnno what im going to do.

BBK? lol haha im so poor!

If your rotors are warped you would know it, the car would shake when you apply the brakes. Sounds like you have somthing else going on.

BTW my friend got the rotors on his FX replaced for free when they were warped at 10k miles.

I warped the rotors on my G35 many times, and they never made noise, the car would just shake when you hit the brakes.

Mabe your pads are worn down? Can you describe the noise, is it a squeek, a grind, ????

I think you should just go to the dealer, wear and tear like warped rotors and pads are not covered, but it sounds like you have a different problem that has nothing to do with wear.
