Help Which LED company do you recommend?
Which LED company do you recommend?
LEDs Diode Dynamics have been terribly unreliable for me. I know they had a lot of presents here on the forums, but is there a lighting manufacturer you trust that I should look into?
Have you reached out to @Diode Dynamics to address your issues? In the 10+ years I have my full set installed, only one (1) bulb has failed (license plate). The only alternative I would recommend is superbrightleds.com as i have purchased other LED products from them in the past.I would highly suggest you AVOID anything from Amazon or eBay as most of those products are junk.
I would still reach out to DD and see what's going on.
Just my 10¢.

Cost isn't overly important to me... light quality and longevity are. I hate having to break apart my car to replace a bulb.
I'll look into superbright. Hoping for better luck. Thanks for the help!
They don't have every bulb, but if you want OE quality look at Philips LED bulbs. https://www.philips.ca/c-m-au/car-li...OR_LIGHTING_SU
Diode Dynamics. Great lights and customer support/replacements.
Every time I've called them for support questions or product questions they have been excellent.
They also replaced one of my license plate lights ordered nov 2 2019 in april 2022 and then replaced another from the same order today the 10th of feb 2023. That's over 3 years after purchase and they are replacing the light, no questions asked.
That's interesting that your license plate light is the only one that failed, because I'm having this issue too. I'm starting to wonder if this is either a design problem with the car or with the lights -- or they had a bad batch of lights. All the other lights hold up just fine. I'm wondering if this is why they are so open to replacing them or if they're just like that.
@othree you should definitely give them a call.
Since I said most of them are working fine I figured I'd explain what else I have from them. I have all of these lights in total:
Tail as Turn module
license plate lights
Reverse lights
Vanity lights
Map lights
trunk light
glove box light
fog lights
4x 90mm switchback halos
parking lights

@AnotherVQ
In my case, as I installed these LED's ≈10 years ago, I attributed the failed license plate bulb to age. When I removed the old "dead" LED, the wire lead had broken off- likely a failed solder joint or however these units are manufactured. Either way, after 10 years I could not complain as every other bulb I have from there still works flawlessly. I just replaced them as a set and called it a day.
I'll always recommend @Diode Dynamics for most LED's- never had a issue. Unfortunately, they do not sell individual pieces like superbrightled's which is why I had to go to them for my door handle/ pocket LED project.
