Faded Red seat belt button repair recommendations

I have two faded red seat belt press buttons and on passenger side slide button on bolstter convertible seats. I tried the ceramic wax trick which is bs. I have a heat gun but not sure if that will work. I don’t want to paint it. If thats the case I would judt replace them. Any recommendations?

If you can disassemble the buckles, RIT dye will make it red again
YOu can also wet sand it, but the writing will be nearly impossible to do correctly

It’s not faded per se. It’s all of the dead skin cells and sweat that is stuck on it. You can use warm soapy water and your nails to scratch it off. That’s what I did with mine and they still look good 2 years later.

The more you know! I did this when I converted my G37’s interior and bought black seat belts. It takes a while to clean but is doable!
