Trying to decide which faux leather to use for the headliner. Both are close to the real hide I知 using for dash and beige bits, one is shinier/darker and one is duller/lighter. I wish they had one that was in between these:/ What do y誕ll think?

I want to say G429. Then again I want suede/alcantara on my dash and headliner lol.

That痴 the way I知 leaning too.

I went with this leather that has natural pebbling over alcantara for a few reasons: 1) It matches the the natural dash finish pretty well that痴 still going to be visible on the doors and various other places. 2) Alcantara isn稚 actually that luxurious of a fabric. It caught on b/ it痴 cheap and race cars use it b/ it痴 fireproof. It痴 basically a fake suede that has good fire retardant properties. I知 going for more a Lux look and feel. Oh and that smell is amazing.

Overall, I知 happy with the hide I知 using, just wish I could find a better faux match to it for the headliner.

Since you asked, I'd say go with the G429 for the headliner. The dull flat G180 will show more finger prints, oil + grease, and scratches than the shinier G429. The G429 leather would look more classy as well, sort of like the older cars from Europe in the 70s-90s. The G180 would be better if it was a tan color for luxury cars since it would appear more subtle and refined. The shinier G429 is a perfect combination of class and sportiness for the G.

@BULL The real leather is going everywhere (center fabric). The two samples are the faux leather options for the headliner. Sorry if that wasn稚 clear.

Busy day yesterday. Got the passenger side done. Hoping to finish driver side today. The aluminum tape is clutch. Sticks to mlv very well and really helps seal where to pieces meet. It痴 not beautiful looking, but I think it痴 pretty good functionally, no gaps. Even got under the harnesses in the door skirt area.

The center compartment box is a major squeaker. After I finally figured out how to take it apart I found the problem. Plastic on plastic rub. I laid CCF around the border and put it back together. Now it痴 squeakless!

Here you can see the CCF pushing through from the underside to create a barrier between the plastic parts. Worked like a charm.

Next up is the entire cup holder assembly. I have it apart and it痴 the same problem, plastic on plastic makes a lot of noise.

Keep up the good work man. Really looking forward to seeing the wrapped headliner and dashboard! Take your time, and don't rush it!

Appreciate it! I知 looking forward to it too. Definitely not rushing it as you can see I知 getting into the weeds on dealing with all these squeaks.

One big hold up now is trying to find a better matching faux leather for the headliner. I知 not thrilled with current options I have seen and I致e got some more samples coming in so hopefully one is closer than than what my current options are. I can稚 put anything back in until I get the headliner back in. I知 working around it okay still but pretty soon it痴 going to cause a log jam.

For the foam pieces that are necessary like the shifter area you could try by doubling down on the layer or paint it.

It'll feel as quiet as german cars. Pay attention to the window moldings as they have an air seal that almost always craps out.
It's a substantial gap that'll annoy and let grass and leaves in.

My center console squeaks sometimes when resting my arm on the console lid. It used to drive me nuts, but then the entire rest of the car because increasingly more loud over the years with various mods, and now I'm not hearing it anymore.

Cudos for finding the problem and fixing it.

I知 not sure I follow. The cup holder and box under arm rest are only things that creak/squeak in center console.

For the shifter I have it sealed around pretty good w/ the CCF/MLV that is covering every inch of the car I can get to and I知 going to put a layer over the shifter as well (see photo of my gutted car where the white cotton circle is).

Thanks! I知 trying to address every single point of noise as I put stuff back. The center console was a big one.

I want the car to feel like it痴 floating when I知 done.
