Ok, just singed up for G forum because I have a bad problem. Found a puddle in my rear passenger side floor after a day of rain. Took it to a local body shop and after he "did what he could" to trouble shoot and fix the problem I was told it was the rear sunroof drain. He then advised me to get rid of my car. It is a 2009 G37 coup and I love this car as much today as the day I drove it new off the lot !!! Can this be fixed or replaced?
There is no reason to "get rid of the car" because of a sunroof drain- which is the likely cause of your problem. Apparently the shop doesn't want to do the work.
The front drain tubes are known to cause problems especially at the firewall (evidenced by water at the front floorboard(s)). I suspect the rear drains are just as potentially problematic.
If you are able to do the work yourself, download the factory manual for your car from here: https://nicoclub.com/FSM/G37/Coupe/2009/ or else find a different, BETTER, shop.
I am attaching two photos below showing the drain tubes and the plastic drain connectors which have been known to cause issues for many:
PLEASE NOTE THE ABOVE PHOTOS ARE FROM THE 2017+ Q60 (CV37) FACTORY MANUAL. THESE ARE FOR REFERENCE PURPOSES ONLY AS THE G37 MANUAL DOES NOT ILLUSTRATE THIS (PROBLEMATIC) DRAIN TUBE CONNECTOR.
Good luck.

Thanks!!! I agree that a sun roof leak is not a good reason to drop my car. I will be investigating another mechanic . Doesn't look too complicated on the diagram but I prefer to defer to a professional on this . I appreciate your input . Thanks again
