Newbie here; Recently purchased 2013 G37x, & I came across several posts here regarding cracked dashboards, but can’t tell how common of a problem it is, & whether I should worry about that?

If so, what is a good prevention strategy; getting a sunshade? or some other protection?

Mine developed two cracks this summer. Car is parked outside. For six years, I used a sunscreen but it was stolen late last year at the track. Not definite cause-and-effect but there it is. The owners of early cars have been complaining for years about sticky and melting dashes. Infiniti definitely made a poor choice in materials.
