Color Looks Off

Really bugging but I'm kicking myself for not noticing this. Is it just me or does the color look off?

It's not you. Not the original owner, right?

My car just got repainted (same color as you) as it was in the accident. You can tell the new paint from the old (dull) paint by also looking for lots of sparkles. There will be lots of sparkles if they used OEM paint code. But it does kind of look off.

Edit: The last picture almost looks like half smokey quartz, half graphite shadow. But its probably due to the light.

To my eyes, looks like the left rear door/quarter was repaired. I can see that the rear wheel arch line isn't as sharp as the front, as if it is bondo and sanded a bit smoother than factory.

Was there an accident on the car fax? If not, who knows how much he paid for the car to be repainted . Maybe try and sanding / polishing the car so it blends more ?

Bought it from CarMax and the manager was actually not happy with when I said the car was repainted but really understanding. He said it bring it in next week and they'll take a look and go from there.

I have to agree, door damage likely happened and scrapped the quarter panel. Obviously they tried to "blend" the paint, but this is the level of Maaco. 2nd G37 that i bought with a "clean" CarFax and STILL damage. I'm done after this one.

Not to kick you while your down, but I can't imagine how you didn't see this the very first time you looked at the car. Were you in a rush? Did you buy it in a darkened alley?

You know, regardless of the paint job problem that you can't un-see now, you've got a solid G37S Sedan with the RWD Sport Package. That's not too shabby.

Well it was parked in shaded spot so really couldnt tell. When I saw the pics, it looked off a bit but just thought its the light.

I can argue. It's still solid. And price I paid, I can really argue. Just hold me off till I go German. Nothing wrong with it except that stupid door rattle which nearly 99% of all G37 apparently have. Even my boss rattle in the door.

Hold you off until you go German? Ha! My German car had to hold me off until I could come back to good ol' school Nissan rwd!
I'll admit, gonna miss easy power increases and getting to drive lots of different loaner cars.

Your suspect inspection before you bought the car is making you go to a different car brand? German cars don't get into accidents and need repairs?

I think you mean, "I can't argue", because it doesn't make sense otherwise.

No idea what this door rattle is that afflicts 99% of all Gs.

Hold you off before you go German? Most G owners with the RWD Sport Package intentionally selected their car over other cars in its class.

Its like something is rattling inside the door when driving at speeds. I've searched and found a lot of owners have rattling sounds coming from the inside of the door.
Yeah Ill go to CarMax see what they have to say. If worst comes to shove, I can get this wrapped in that Nardo Grey from Audi.

LOL I drove a 335i with the M Sport and have to say that was extremely satisfying. The whole car felt way different then the G. I really like the G still. Cant argue with a 300hp V6 RWD sedan for 20k. And not a Charger.
