Yeah Ill go to CarMax see what they have to say. If worst comes to shove, I can get this wrapped in that Nardo Grey from Audi.

LOL I drove a 335i with the M Sport and have to say that was extremely satisfying. The whole car felt way different then the G. I really like the G still. Cant argue with a 300hp V6 RWD sedan for 20k. And not a Charger.
Agreeing with Rochester, I don't have a rattle within my door. The only door problem I have is that it doesn't always stay up those heavy doors .

Also, if you got the G wrapped in that Audi grey, that would look amazing . I love those Grey's . See if CarMax will pay for it or even half the wrap, and if so, that grey would be one of my choices .

I do love the way a German car drives, and I love the way our Infiniti drives also. They are totally different. Problem for comparing German machines to Japanese machines is that most Japanese iron is FWD or FWD-based AWD (WRX) and any vehicle originally designed as FWD will never deliver driving dynamics of a RWD-based car. My Q60 feels solid, heavy (bad thing to some!) and substantial in a quality way. German cars feel similar, but have a scalpel-like response in their dynamics. I always say taking my tuned 2016 GTI into traffic is like performing surgery...slice and dice, I can really hoon in that car.

My 2016 GTI with a Stage 1 tune destroys new (stock) 340i on the freeway. But, at 20k miles it had been in the shop 6 times, fuel pump (prior to tune) sunroof 3 times finally replaced entire assembly a month ago under warranty, and the DSG transmission failed. The current DSG trans has a defect that affects some people, most who are not tuned. I don't hate the car, I rather love it! But, the Infiniti is a great car too, in a different way. Like, I won't have to get it repaired often, off-warranty life will be affordable, and being RWD-based (mine is AWD) is FAR better driving experience than any FWD Japanese penalty box.

BTW, OP, I too was screwed when buying a slightly used car from a dealer. A few years ago I bought a Toyota off-lease car from Toyota TCUV program. The car had been in a major accident 2 months prior, hadn't shown up on Carfax yet (Carfax will admit it can take up to 6 months to post history), and when I went to sell the car 2 years later, a possible buyer pointed out to me the Carfax had a "serious frame damage" statement 45 days prior to when I purchased the car. The car seemed fine, but had half value at that point, and when I asked Toyota to honor their TCUV guarantee (which, at that time guaranteed the car was thoroughly inspected and never had any body damage, obviously their inspection overlooked that!) after 6-9 months back-and-forth, Toyota told me to get a lawyer for myself if I wanted remedy.

I bought my Q60 because it is Japanese (reliability) and my 2007 Nissan Titan has never needed any repairs, aside from a tail pipe rusting off and a blower motor resistor going out. The German car was constantly (relatively speaking) in the shop. A 335 won't be under warranty any more (or for much longer) and I would never own one. We bought our wife's Saabaru from a person who "upgraded" to a 535i, and by the time we bought their Saabaru from them, their 1 month old 535i had already accrued $10k in repairs. They were really regretting their decision!

My car was keyed in one door and it happened to me too. When I brought it back from the auto body shop the color looked off, like the one in the picture. I brought it back and they redid the paint and now it looks perfect.

Perhaps you purchased my previous 2012 G37S that I traded in?

It does look off but at least you saw it soon enough, not like me it took me 5 years after my second accident to realize that the trunk was not pearl white but white.

When I brought the car to the garage because I got hit on the passenger side it took them an extra week to match the paint but were not able to until someone realized that the trunk paint didn't match with the rest of the vehicle.

When I went to pick up the G back in 2013 the mechanic told me they painted it and the car was ready to go. Stupid as I am all this was new to me and I didn't know what to look for. All I saw was white car under the sun lol.

But that's when the mechanic from the second garage showed me the difference between the paint job color and not it look ridiculous to have your trunk white and the tears with color.
i don't know if you guys can see the difference, just a little but

Haven't heard of this door rattle thing. I thought I heard something when my window went up, but I didn't pay enough attention. I keep looking at other cars, even thought about going to turo and trying something out for a day or two.

I recommend everyone to go to turo if just for a laugh, when you see someone wanting to rent their 2013 328i for $30 a day and someone else wants to rent their 2011 Sonata for $60, perhaps it just amuses me. Tesla model 3s are still $100 a day.

so here's an update and Im looking for some opinion. CarMax said theyll repaint if that's my final decision. They'll pay most of it and I just pay the rest.
Now Im wondering if it's worth it to get the paint redone. Manager agreed this is going to suck because it's repainting the car again and it's gonna hurt the value of the car. Not an easy job because it has metallic flakes.

Don't know what "most" and "the rest" means, but I'd say do it. Otherwise, you're going to be miserable for as long as you own it. It's not going to hurt the value any more than trying to resell a horizontally two-tone car.

I just had my hood, front bumper, rear bumper, and left front fendor painted in KAD (same as you) . The new paint code for KAD has ALOT of metallic flakes .I mean alot .You will need able to tell the difference between the old paint and the new paint . I got my paint done by a 5/5 shop and even though it has more metallic flakes, it still blends pretty much 98% . I'm going back in 25 days when the paint dries and everything to have them bufff and polish out my old paint to brinf back the metallic flakes.

If they paint it with the OEM paint code and do a good job, it will look 10x better than what it does now .
