Why not file on insurance that is massive damage

 

There are two coupes being parted out in the Classifieds forum.

 

You just need a front bumper and a grill (Chipped off from one corner - You can file insurance and fix it yourself)
Looks like an easy fix

 

As an actual auto damage estimator I can tell you from just this picture that he also need to change the crash bar and may even need a little chasis pull. Car is far from totaled but will need some work.

 

It's more than just cosmetic repairs. If you got hit and its their fault go through insurance bc you could end up chasing your tail for a long time

 

looks like the bumper support is trashed too, the hood looks misaligned, hard to tell if its the fender pushed in a little or the hood, tabs on the lights may be broken...OP should post more pictures or a list of parts they know need replacing

 

Yeah there's lots of plastic bits and pieces that are going to have to be replaced. Can't know for sure without getting a closer look at the car.

I turned it into insurance and now the lady is saying my wife ran the light, which is BS.

It doesn't matter

My BIL got t-boned, police found the other driver at fault for running a red light.

Insurance decided both parties were at fault because there was no proof the light was red. Conveniently, both parties had the same insurance carrier and both were only carrying liability insurance.
