Hey guys I need some help fixing my sunroof. I got my 08 coupe about 6 months ago, and the sunroof doesn't work at all. Since purchase, it has been stuck in the closed position. It doesn't leak or anything like that, but when I try to open or tilt it, nothing happens. It doesn't make a motor noise or anything. It's completely disfunctional. Any ideas on where to begin fixing this thing?
I also have a sunroof problem....fuse is good . It started out as an intermediate problem....sometimes you would have to click the switch several times before it would work. Sometimes it would be fine. Now....it doesn't work at all. I've looked at you tube videos suggesting that it may be the 3 loose bolts that's holding the motor in place...not the case. I have quit for the night but thinking it must be in the switch? Guess I will get out my ohm meter and see if I can figure out if the switch is good next. Has anyone else repaired this? Or can you lead me down the path to a thread on here somewhere that I can't find? And /or the switch part # and if it is a dealer only buy? Any help is appreciated. My car is a 2012 G37X coupe.....only 69 thousand miles on it....a little peeved about having this problem
It seems as if you already have a game plan set. Switches can go out for no reason- it is just one of those things. If the switch is bad, a new one from Infiniti is around $60 (p/n: 25450-JU40A) from here: Sunroof Switch
However, for $15-$20 off eBay, you can get the whole map light assembly WITH the sunroof switch. I, personally would go this route. If you are brave, you might be able to disassemble the switch, clean the contacts, and see what happens there?
thanks for the advice..... I bought the whole assembly off of eBay for $25. It came off a crashed vehicle exact same year and model as mine , and works fine.
