How do I replace the small amber bulbs on the sides ?
Hello,
I am facing a small technical issue.
I am in the process of replacing exterior lights with LEDs on my G37 Convertible.
I purchased a pair of amber "sidemarker" LEDs from Diode Dynamics, thinking that they were meant to replace the little bulbs on the left and right side of the car, not those in the headlights (which I think they call "front turn signal").
I managed to gently remove the bulb supports from the car to access their backs and thought that I could unplug them from here (as this is how it is done for headlight bulbs) but the glass-like covers seems to be pasted, and I don't understand how I could do it.
Can anyone please tell me how I can access the bulbs without breaking something ?
Or, did I order the wrong LEDs and misunderstood the word "sidemarker", as English is not my native language ? (if so, I do not understand the difference between "sidemarker" and "front turn signal" ).
Here a a few pictures to show exactly what I am talking about. The first 3 are from the right side, the last 3 are from the left side (should it matter).
They appear to be one piece unless you're able to pull the clear plastic off somehow but like you said it's likely glued on. They probably just replace the entire thing if the light goes out. The bulbs you got were indeed side markers within the headlight housing, not for the ones on the fender. You can contact Diode Dynamics, they probably know if it's possible to replace those.
