used a dremel to cut the back housing off n simply spray painted the interior chrome cover black, I used a soldering iron to pretty much weld plastic to plastic
Love the risk - well worth it for those results; that looks really good.
Run some water on the seam to test? If anything, I'd scoop up some clear silicone and smear a real thin seal along the cut. Backup layer in case weather causes the plastic to flex or something.

thanks for the advice, deffinently going to throw some silicone on for sure.
Appreicate the love on the tail lights, n my wife is the 1 who saves lives not me, don' have the brain capacity for that lmao. I also plan on doing my headlights as will, also did some vinyl wrap on the interior

black out the chrome trunk lip next is the chrome around the windows n then a black cherry vinyl wrap for the whole car
