headlight

my car burned out its headlight so i went to get it replaced. then i get it back and i shut the car off. i come back and both are out. i get it fixed again and only one works and i was told that there was a problem with the bulb. i replaced it AGAIN and a mechanic said it the ballast thats broken and it could cost me $1700 (canadian) to get a new one since it is connected to the whole headlight for this car. so now both my headlights are out with new bulbs in them and i payed so much to get them fixed already. can anyone help with any suggestions or tell me if theyve ever had a problem cuz i have no idea what to do!

If your car is 2012 or newer and the bulbs going in them were cheap then that's the likely issue. Were the Phillips or Osram bulbs?

the brand is called "race sport" (HID xenon so idk if maybe the ballast couldnt handle it cuz when they were working it looked brighter than usual.as long as its not this so called 1700$ ballast thats the problem i have no problem with putting any lights. if nothing works ill just end up putting after market lights hopefully those will work

eBay should have ballast if you need them and cheap bulbs are a gamble.

Get genuine Phillips D2S bulbs and install them. The 2012+ ballasts don't like the aftermarket bulbs.
