Hey guys. Earlier this morning I tried removing the steering wheel security bolts that hold the airbag. I noticed that the bolts were stripped. I dropped the t19 tied bit in the steering wheel. So now when I turn the wheel I hear the bit moving around.
Here comes the worse part. After trying to remove the bit by turning the wheel the horn started to honk. The only way I was able to disable the horn is by removing the negative cable from the battery.
Horn continues to honk when I connect the cable to the battery.

I have an appointment tomorrow with Infiniti but I wanted to know before the appointment if there is anything I can do to fix the issue since the car is out of warranty.

can you snake a magnet in there to retrieve the bit? or attach a strong magnet to the shaft of a screwdriver and use that to fish it out.

not sure about the horn deal tho.

 

You might be using the incorrect size Torx bit.
When I removed my wheel ('08 G Coupe) I needed a T30 security Torx bit....this might be why you think the bolt is stripped using the incorrect size.

Are you sure T19 was the correct size for that bolt? That's a uncommon size... usually they are in increments of 5... T15. T20. T25, etc...

Techs love it when a customer brings their vehicles in for their own ****-ups.

 

The OP could perhaps roll the vehicle over on its roof.
