Took my '13 G37s to the dealer about a year ago for some service and they told me there was a bulletin about the dash, so he went ahead and replaced mine. Even though there were no problems that I saw. There was also a bulletin about the stick shift **** so they replaced that, too. They weren't recalls, just bulletins.
I just sent information on my 2009 G37 to Morgan and Morgan, is maybe in time they’ll purse class action. Nissan/ Infiniti just lost their *** on the FX Recall so I know they’ll avoid paying out to G and M owners as long as they can...
The intent of my participation is to have Infiniti repair or replace the dash. A pittance in cash will cause me to leave the class action and sue separately.
The one, and only, time I asked the dealership about my dash (very minor crack but really bad glare when the sun hits it) their response was that the car is (then) almost 8 years old, out of warranty, and out of their concern but would happily replace at my full cost (approx. $1500).
Now, if something has changed and Infiniti is casually and quietly addressing this issue I would like to know. How are you folks getting the dealerships to replace the dash? What's the secret, if any?
09, Black interior. Sticky when it's a little hot but no cracks, not too bad. Can pull away lint that accumulates when the dash is cold in the morning. Never garaged. Hopefully it won't start to crack.
'08 G37 with black interior. No cracks, but it's really sticky; especially in the summer and causes a glare. I couldn't find anything to help the issue including the dealership...Not really wanting to replace it for $1500+ for something that isn't my fault!
Not an Infiniti, but the dash in our 2006 Saabaru 9-2x has been getting very sticky lately.
I really feel there was an industry change due to environmental regulations or something that caused modern dashes to become sticky over time. Happens in other cars also, not just Infiniti.
2009 G37 Convertible Bloomingdale Edition with aero kit, only 37,000 garage kept miles. Cracks forming in 4 to 5 places on dash. Has anyone in Central Florida had success with dealer replacement. Any help, dealer info/contact, etc greatly appreciated.
