Philips Daylight 8 LED DRL Kit

Anyone have experience installing one of these kits?

I have a 2010 coupe and would need to fit them in the faux air vents below the headlamps. I'm guessing that I'd need to drill into the faux vents to give them a clean look? I don't want to just clip them on or tape them and then worry about having them fall off later.

How do these DRLs work with the auto light on/off feature on the G37s?

Is there a long delay for the DRLs to turn off after you turn the engine off?

I installed these on my M35. They are amazing, it was recommended to me by another M owner. The installation is pretty straight forward. It connects directly to your battery so it comes on and goes off on startup/shutdown of vehicle. Depending on where you decide to install I didn't use the brackets it came with. I simply used 3M 20/30 lbs tape and never had any issues.
Also, if I remember correctly the color is true clear white, Incase your looking to match with Headlights.

This is the link I used. Hope it works out for you. I would definitely do it if I can find a place where it would make it look OEM.

I used these on my G as well. I had my garage install them though and like the look. They definitely are bright and OEM like. My only regret is that I didn't have them flush mounted in the faux fog light hole. Simple install though.

Thanks for the tips. I'm going to take my time when installing these in the faux vents since I want them to be flush and have a clean look.

Seems to me like the install on a G37 is easier than on an M35

Will do! When you installed these on your G, did you notice whether the DRLs come on when you have the headlights in AUTO mode? Are they at full brightness or dimmed?

They turn on when you start the car and stay on until you turn it off.

But are they dimmed or at full brightness? I want to make sure they dim when I set the headlight switch to AUTO and the headlights turn on. Like this:

Were yours installed properly? According to Philips, they're supposed to dim to 30% when the headlights are on.

I assume so and believe so. Mine have been on for 3 years so don't know if Phillips has changed the design since I purchased mine. Then again, my garage guy knew I wanted these on 100% of the time and didn't act like a true DRL. So I'm not sure if he did anything to make sure it worked as I wanted.
