Review VIS ams Carbon fiber hood

Hi, so recently purchased a VIS ams Carbon fiber hood. There had been a debate if the oem hood latch pins fit in the holes on the hood. I tested and they do.

Arrived very well packaged and secure. In great condition. It is very pretty !

Easy quick install. Removed old hood. Put on new hood, tightened the four bolts holding to the hinges.
Swapped the oem hood latch pins, and the center latch. The bump stops however did not fit, the hole a lil too small. Tried shaving them down, still working with them to get right length and positioning.

Tested close for fitment. Was close, but shifted a lil to passenger side, so loosened nuts slightly and slid over much as could, retightend, and was centered.

Ended up being very good fitment overall, but just a small dip/gap above headlight about 1cm.
Seen here.

I adjust pins slightly to reduce it a little bit.
Still shaving down rubber bump stops to get in there to hopefully help pop hood up just a little and flush that gap perfectly.

Only other thing is to use the oem hood gas struts or not. I've heard mixed opinions. Some say remove, some say use aftermarket lower pressure ones, some say they use oem just fine. I've heard because the oem hood is so light that the shocks aren't very strong and are fine to use with the Carbon hood, especially as it's reinforced with FG under shell frame.
Opinions anyone?
I may remove to see if helps with perfect fitment.

Overall, I am very pleased so far. Beautiful hood, great Carbon, very nice quality it seems. Just small bump stop hole issue, and small dip fitment on front by headlight. I'm sure I will get bump stops in and play with everything and get fitment perfect.

I will update as I go.
More to come.

Reference to other thread where was dispute w VIS and a member bout hood latch pin hole sizes and customer service. I can't speak to their interactions, but for myself the hood latch pins fit and cust svc has been ok so far. Guy at VIS wanted to make sure there was no problem with hood hole sizes and sold me a hood to find out for sure. Granted I have not had same problem or interaction but as far as my interactions with VIS, All seems legit to me so far. I would still recommend VIS at this point.

Thanks for the write up. Interested in pics on the bump stop fix, struts and overall look once all put back together. By chance, did you weigh the hoods? Did you notice a real weight difference between the two hoods?

Cf hood is lighter for sure, but our oem hood is actually pretty light too. Didn't weight them, but I imagine it's not actually a huge weight savings, but the looks more than make up for weight saving.
I was surprised at how light the oem hood was. I'll go feel the difference again and give a better estimate later.

Is there anything under the vents in the hood to prevent water from soaking the engine? Or is it only mesh
