Help with tapping into DOME lighting for LEDs

I'm having difficulty finding the specific wires used to tap into the dome lights to create the fade effect. I keep reading of people tapping into the dome lights (or just saying it) on previous posts involving LEDs and I've yet to find any info on how to exactly. I had help from Telcoman and LGmobile with the manuals but it's too confusing for me to know for sure what I'm looking at. I'm not sure if the best route is to go through the BCM or snake em from the dome. All I want them to do is fade on when unlocking the car and fade out when the doors close. I have pretty basic knowledge on all of this stuff and would appreciate info on how it's properly done. Here are some random pics I took through this process....

Passenger Pillar wires. The driver side appears to only have the wires from the sunroof snaked down in them.

The cream colored wires are from the actual map lights

I was thinking of useing an add-a-circuit to the fuse for the interior lights, but I wasn't sure exactly which fuse it was. That would be a whole lot easier than tapping the direct wires, as well as reversible.

I definitely thought about that as well. The fuse is called ROOM LAMP I believe. If you tapped into it the way you're thinking it would definitely work, however the fade effect wouldn't be there since there are multiple lights being powered that don't have the effect.

Wait is that picture of the center console with the 2 lights and the sunglasses holder? Can you remove that and then reinstall it without removing the entire headliner? I was told if you remove it you have to reinstall the headliner. Is this not the case? Mine rattles like **** from my subs and I was looking to remove it and then rattle proof it but I was always scared.

Thanks takeapieandrun

I completed the project finally and did it through my illuminated door sills.

Arrogant, Yep that's the same part/area. You're able to remove it without removing the headliner pending if you're talking about the middle portion I took down or the entire hard plastic portion surrounding it as well. I'm not sure if you're able to do that without removing the headliner or not.

How did you tap the wires? The pins on the BCM have such small wires that it seems impossible to strip and solder in that limited space.
