Unhappy Issues with Diode Dynamics Turn As Tail Module + Resistors

Hi Everyone,

I saw the turn as tail mod and it seemed cool so i went ahead and purchased the modules with the resistor pack from them and this is what i've done,

G37 Wire Identification :
Green Solid wire = Indicator Halogen bulb wire
Green Wire with Stripe = LED Bulbs

Now Diode Dynamics sent the module where on side of the Module has two wires
Yellow ====== become a white wire
Red ======

Now it seems simple enough connect the Green to Yellow "from the harness and the red to the Green Striped wire. and then the White wire to the Green Striped wire thats going to the LED's.

So i try everything out and i experience Hyper Blink

Then i add the Resistors to the Green wire and connect the other end in the the Black , However still get Hyper Blink ....

Anyone here that can help me with this.....
Exhausted from searching forms and trying other wiring sequences ....

Car : Infiniti G37x Coupe 09

Thank You

You could, ya know, try calling or emailing Diode Dynamics. Nick seems to be incredibly helpful in all his posts on the board.

And measure the resistance with an ohm meter to be sure they are the correct value.

It appears to be a bad batch of modules that were sent out. Check this thread out as others are also experiencing "hyper blinking".

Call DD tomorrow and get an RMA.

Can anyone explain where the resistor goes on our cars, I have a feeling I'm simply placing the resistor wrong ...

Check one of my previous posts. I had the same issue and got it sorted out.

Just got and installed mine tonight.
The resistor is now part of the harness, 5 min installation each side.

Why didn't you buy the PnP kit instead? They have those for the coupe.

Not sure about your other connections / colors of wires, but the resistors connect between the tail light "hot" wires and a chassis ground. The purpose of the resistors is to add to the circuit load because changing from the incandescent turn signal bulb to the tail light LED's decreases the load and the car's electrical monitoring system thinks a bulb has burned out. (Same thing will happen if you change the front turn signal bulbs to LED's -- you'll need to add a resistor to a chassis ground on each side.)

One of the quickest, easiest ways to tell if the resistors are working correctly, is to feel them when the turn signal is in use. If they aren't getting hot than that's a red flag that they aren't installed correctly.

Heat is a byproduct of electrical resistance, if there's no heat, there's no electrical resistance being created.

Angry Diode dynamics turn as tail issues

Hello All,
I purchased the PNP for my G37 Convertible and the right tail light works great but when I plugged in the left tail light it did not work! So I thought that it was a bad module so I swapped them and the right tail light works and the left one still does not. I will call DD on Monday! Any thoughts????

Thanks, Rob
