With the Fortunes, did you get the longer springs? I can't adjust up any further, I like the stance but the Memphis roads are not lowered friendly and I need a new undershroud already.
Yes, I was told the longer springs, (swift spring upgrade) was a must on the x. With out it the rear would be pretty slammed with the coilovers maxed out

Are they at max height at the moment? I would be interested in seeing pics if you don't mind. If its not too bad i'd rather not spend the extra $300 for the upgrade. I was just told from a vendor on here that they wont build a set without swift springs so i might try and order else where.

Although, your signature says Fortune 500 w Swifts so did you upgrade them lol?

I dont believe I got or saw satin grey anwhere....but my samples did come in yesterday and I cant say how much of a surprise to me when I opened the package and saw that they also included a whole swatch of color samples for free.....def a great place to purchase from. But after looking at what I got in, I feel the "Matte Gunpowder" from Arlon is what best fits my wheel color....pls excuse the dirty rims...we've been getting our afternoon showers here for about the last week now...

this pic looks a little off....but it was the lighting of being in the shade with the top of the spoke being a bit more reflective than the face in this angle

So i got it finished tonight and i am extremely happy with the results. It took me a couple days, i didn't do it all in one sitting. I took my time, did a few pieces here and there but it wasn't bad at all. After wrapping the smaller pieces you get a good feeling of how it works. As long as you take your time and really put in what you want to get out, it'll turn out great. Alot of precise cutting and tucking but well worth it.

Thanks blnewt for the awesome write up, the trim specs were just enough to work with yet not enough to feel wasteful. I'm going to attempt to do the chrome trunk piece to get a feel for more heating and stretching then if all goes well I'll do the grill.

Opinions!!! Do the trunk spoiler black to blend in with the paint or do the matte gray to stand out a little???

Here are a few pics i snapped in the garage, I'll take some tomorrow during the day to show how well it matches. Pretty damn close if you ask me lol.

Wow, you did a great job on those pieces and the color looks to be a very good match. Glad the DIY worked out, and something you can take pride in

Very nice job.

I need to redo mine again soon. I'm thinking that brushed satin would look good on my liquid platinum sedan.

Blnewt, Any advice on wrapping the trunk piece? Take it off or leave it on? Also what would be the closest match to the OB paint, such as brand and color?

Is there a better starting point then others? Sorry for all the questions, this is my first time I'm going to be wrapping where i need to heat and shape the mold and you seem like the expert!

Thanks!

It's not too hard, but what I'd do is keep it on the trunk, but have it ready to take off. Get the felt trunk liner pulled back so you can access the nuts holding down the spoiler and loosen them a bit.
I'd then just pull the vinyl tight and lay it onto the spoiler strip, get it down as best you can then remove the spoiler so you can wrap it around the perimeter and then fully tuck it back and do a final trim then heat seal. Luckily it doesn't take much vinyl so if you have to retry it's no biggie.

The center door pillars are a gloss black vinyl wrap from the factory and the regular Scotchprint 1080 gloss black will be a decent match.
G/L, and you'll be a wrapping pro in no time

For some reason, I still like the chrome on mine, I just need a window tint. I think the chrome match if you don't have a wheel cap cover which exposes that shiny silver hub...

Anyway, great mod there!
