Windows recently tinted
Hey guys! new to the site. In regards to the tints I have a white coupe got 40% on the windshield 20% on the sides and 35% on the back live in MD. The 40% does not hinder my vision at night also have a light colored interior which helps the tint not look as dark during the day
Being a new member, I hate to throw fuel on the fire. However, I have a bit of insight into the windshield tint discussion. Back in 2002 when I was a plumber, I had an unfortunate incident where I had a piece of PVC pipe break off (using a set of ratchet type cutters) and shoot into my left eye. Several hours of surgery later and years of healing I was left with decent vision (20/40) and a pupil that does not constrict normally. Where most pupils dilate and constrict relatively fast, my left one takes several minutes to an hour to adjust...
Living in South Fl, the sun is always bright and always out. Tinted windows helps me not only with daylight but also night time driving with glare (a few doctors notes and I actually am legal to have it).
All of my vehicles have tinted windows. While in FL everything was 5% (here now in western NY I can get away with 20%) . I did at one time attempt having my windshield tinted to 50% mostly for glare. Now I will agree that during daytime driving it was barely noticeable.
Here is where I agree with everyone who posted, since, ofcourse I have first hand knowledge. TINTING YOUR WINDSHIELD drastically affected my night time driving. Especially dark dim lit roads. It was so bad, I actually rolled down my side windows at times just to drive. There also was a serious side effect that I am sure the poster is aware. Humidity KICKS the **** out of your vision. That tint fogged up so bad it was a grey mess even with the defrost on. Needless to say after 2 months, and not driving at night, I had it removed because lets face it, everyone who posted here (other than the guy who is losing the argument) is correct. Tinted windshields DO NOT WORK lol...
Now, 5% tint on sides and back windows is easy. roll down your windows when you back up at night, and enjoy the rain!

Alabama legal tint percentage is 32%. Mine are legal. Had illegal tint on a civic I bought years back. 2 weeks later and a ticket I keep them legal. Tint was 20% on the sides and none in the back. I was "THE" safety hazard. Just keep it legal people.
